Sessions from 7.00pm til late

A mouth-watering menu of 4 exceptionally talented acts from across the UK. Featuring the jaw-dropping guitar playing of Tom James, the soaring melodic songs of Phil King, the gorgeous mountain-stream vocals of SERA and the mesmerising 3-part harmonies of Wildwood Kin...  Yum!

Tom James

This unfeasibly-talented guitarist and singer-songwriter returns to the Fringe with his band by popular demand. Hailing from Falmouth, and currently at Southampton Uni, the 21-year-old has been described by Ben Howard as ‘pushing the mould’. Tom’s unique mix of tapping and finger style has seen him gain respect from fellow musicians and drop jaws during performances. This combined with his unique vocals and lyrical depth makes an artist whose honesty and passion comes through in every performance.

Phil King

Bristol-based singer songwriter Phil King went down a storm last year so he's back again but this time brings along his full band! Phil immediately captivates an audience with his melodic vocal and accomplished guitar picking.

“Phil has a charming vulnerability, his accomplished set is a mixture of Damien Rice-style heartfelt balladry, John Martyn melancholia and the raw energy of a busker. Here is a man laying his heart wide open, with nothing but his guitar and harmonica for company, to a room full of strangers and that in itself is worthy of respect. The fact his music is also so heartwarmingly good makes being in the crowd a thoroughly enjoyable experience." Amelias Magazine.

SERA

We are very excited to welcome Folk/pop singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sera to the Fringe. Sera is from Caernarfon, a small town in North Wales and performs in both English and Welsh. She blew us away with her music videos and special vocal - as clear and crisp as a Welsh mountain stream! She has a busy schedule of festivals, tours and concerts this year playing at Cornbury Festival, Live session for BBC London, and Wakestock Festival to mention a few and is certainly one to watch in 2014. Sera will hopefully be giving the new Fringe piano a good work out!

Wildwood Kin

Wildwood Kin are a 3 piece folk/indie band from Devon. Sisters Emillie and Beth Key and cousin Meghann Loney perform beautifully blended vocal harmonies with acoustic guitars and unique songwriting. Earlier this year the trio won the Open Mic UK Competition for the 16-20 age group ahead of thousands of other entries with the final staged at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. With their growing reputation and band of followers they are now performing regular gigs and festivals around the region and recently recorded a live session for BBC Introducing. Arrive in good time to see these rising stars of the local music scene.
