Sam Green & The Midnight Heist
We are well chuffed to have persuaded local-boys-made-good: Sam Green & The Midnight Heist to play a slot at the Fringe. SGATMH are a rootsy blues, rock n roll band with big choruses and earthy rifts that will reach out and grab you. Featuring lashings of Lap Slide Guitar and foot stompin' drums - washed down big Bass rhythms and wailin' harmonica - and before you know it you'll be slapping your thighs with the rest of us. SGATMH always but on a great show and are made for the rustic barn setting of the Fringe. Do not miss this!
We are very pleased to introduce 'Oh So Quiet' - a very exciting young 6-piece Art Indie Folk/Rock band from London. Founders Lucas and Malena Zavala moved from Argentina to England as young children and the clash of cultures they observed helped develop their wonderful sound, combining indigenous Latin-American music with western world indie, folk and rock. The resulting unique collision of cultures is captured in their exquisite debut self-titled EP which was received with great reviews in 2013. Their brand new EP is due out this summer!
"This is cello like you’ve never heard before..."
Coming all the way from San Francisco (via China) to the Sidmouth Fringe this summer are Dirty Cello. Led by cellist Rebecca Roudman, who has shared the stage with everyone from Elvis Costello to Carlos Santana and Ry Cooder and Joan Baez, Dirty Cello presents unique and dynamic music that mixes virtuoso classical playing with the soul of blues, and the fire of gypsy music. Think B.B. King meets Yo-Yo Ma. An opportunity not to be missed!
Cornish boy living In Bristol. Singer Songwriter gigging and writing songs with influences ranging from Jeff Buckley and Kodaline to The 1975 and Taking Back Sunday. Marcus performed at the Grand Finals of Open Mic UK held at Birmingham N.E.C. He has now started performing with talented guitarist and vocalist Francis Kirth and drummer Tyler Ireson. The trio have just confirmed dates to play at Boardmasters Festival immediately after the Fringe. Arrive in good time to see this very exciting young band.
A finale feast of the finest indie folk/rock and blues with artists from Devon, Bristol, London, and San Francisco! Featuring rootsy rifts from local heroes Sam Green & The Midnight Heist, gorgeous melodies from Oh So Quiet and virtuoso gypsy/jazz cello playing from Dirty Cello... Nice!
