Camping Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to book a camping pitch?
Generally for single tents, caravans and small campers it is not necessary to book. Just turn up and find a nice spot in the 19 acre site. If you are are large group or have a extra long campervan it would be advisable to contact Thorn Park on 01395 579564 or email:
backwoodsman222@gmail.com for all camping enquiries.
Are there any electric hook ups?
There are just a few electric hook ups - but you have to be a very early bird to reserve one!
How do I pay for camping?
Come to the clubhous/barn and ask for Malcolm (aka McBuzz) or he may just appear at your pitch on his buggy runabout to say hello!
Dogs
We only allow well-behaved dogs on short leads. Please pick up after your dog!
Shuttle Bus/ Bus Stop
There is a bus 'Folk 1' bus operated by Greenslades which runs between Salcombe Regis and Sidmouth every 30 minutes - stoping/picking up outside Thorn Park for the duration of Folk Week. See full details here:
Do you have WiFi?
Ask at the barn for the code.
Where can I charge my device?
Ask at the Clubhouse we can usually find a plug somewhere!
Alcohol at the Fringe
The Fringe is a grass roots event on a tight budget - the main way we can recover our staging costs and help with artists fees is through money raised through bar sales. We have a great bar with a good range of local beers, lagers, ciders and spirits at reasonable prices - so please don't be tempted to bring your own alcohol into the event. Thank you for your support.
Have you seen Malcolm/McBuzz?
McBuzz is of a generation who doesn't believe in mobiles or modern communication I'm afraid. Look out for the green gator runabout in the campfield if he's not behind the bar in the Clubhouse!
Who is McBuzz?
McBuzz is a mysterious character. Click hear for a glimpse....
