Liz Ikamba

Excited that British-Congolese singer and multi-instrumentalist Liz Ikamba Music and band will be joining us in August!

Liz Ikamba cross pollinates musical and cultural influences, seamlessly blending the rich and vibrant sounds of Congo folk music with elements of Jazz and Soul.

Singing in both English and Lingala, Liz weaves together a personal and ancestral story - her music is a sonic fusion of Folk, Music of Black Origin, Dub-Reggae and Hip Hop creating her own unique Afro-Soul-Folk sound.

Whiskey Moon  Face

A big welcome to Whiskey Moon Face to this summer’s Fringe!

Alt folk band Whiskey Moon Face met on the streets of London - their music is based around double bass, accordian, and clarinet and they're led by the superb vocals and hallucinatory lyrics of singer Louisa Jones. Capable of being both entertaining and profoundly moving, they combine elements of Eastern European traditional & klezmer music, old-time New Orleans jazz and baroque/chamber folk styles.

Hannah Moule &
The Moulettes

We are so excited to announce that Hannah Moule & The Moulettes will be joining us this summer! We’ve been fans of this utterly unique, constantly evolving and genre-defying band of musicians for some time now and can’t wait to see them performing as a full string ensemble on stage!

If you haven’t heard their music - its a tricky one to describe: A wonderfully creative swirling folk fusion with Kate Bush-like vocal harmonies awash with hair-raising full orchestral strings. There’s plenty of light and shade with sweet melodies one moment and delightfully unexpected syncopated beats and accents the next that will keep you riveted! We can’t wait!

“Orchestral folk at its finest, Divine harmonies”

ALOGTE OHO & HIS SOUNDS OF JOY.jpg

Alogte Oho & his Sounds of Joy

Alogte Oho & His Sounds of Joy are a vibrant troupe of musicians from west Africa.

Alogte Oho is a celebrated Frafra gospel artist from within the explosive music scene of Bolgatanga in Northern Ghana. He is accompanied by his band and gospel choir, the Sounds of Joy.

The choir singing is the core of the group alongside the melodic brass interjections, the flashing synthesizer accents and the heavily grooving rhythm section.

Their music is a sensuous and joyful fusion of international rhythms, gospel vocals and jubilant vibes that will get you grooving.
