The Sidmouth Fringe Sessions are a series of intimate musical performances spread over 5 nights held around the first week of August. Gates open at 5.30pm with informal live music and "Happy Hour" bar with the first act on stage at 7.00pm til late (2pm until late on Monday)

Situated on the edge of the sleepy coastal Devon village of Salcombe Regis (near Sidmouth), it centres around a traditional oak-framed building (McBuzz’s Barn) complete with veranda and adjoining open-side 'tythe barn' and oak-framed stage.

The event coincides with (but independent of) the long-established Sidmouth Folk Festival where thousands of colourful music lovers descend on the valley for the week.

The Sessions celebrate the very best in emerging acts, undiscovered artists and under-the-radar musicians - locally, nationally and now attracting artist from across the globe. Together they create a unique mini festival of live music in an authentic setting.

The music is an eclectic mix of many genres - and has included folk/roots, bluegrass, stomp, blues, acoustic, jazzfusion, world and indie rock/pop - plus everything in-between.

On the middle Monday there is the popular Fringe 'Marquee' Sessions.  Curated by local musician Jonah Hitchens it starts at 2.00pm with a selection of some of the most exciting musicians and bands from across the region and beyond. A lovely relaxed environment to enjoy some great live music!.

The venue is adjacent to the 'alternative' festival campsite (for most of the year a golf course) so there is camping and glamping with showers available right next door on the 22 acre site.

A range of excellent local beers, lagers, ciders are served with a smile from McBuzz's bar and there are hot food stalls selling tasty stuff all evening with vege and vegan and GF options.

Fringe Performers 2023...

"Without doubt the highlight of the summer festival circuit with a line-up that challenges and beats anything else in the county in terms of its quality and consistency”
