Saturday 4 August
Sessions commence 7.15pm (approx)
Saturday night showcases some of the south west's finest artists. Starting with exciting young singer/songwriter Will Heggadon, the captivating and delightful Sadie Horler, the unfeasibly-talented Tom James, and ending with the epic visceral prog folk rock of Haunt the Woods. Yum!
Arrive in good time - with fantastic music right from the start!
We are delighted uber-talented Will Heggadon will be opening the Fringe this summer!
We were blown away by his music first heard on Sarah Gosling's BBC Introducing (Devon & Cornwall) Saturday night show earlier this year.
With his distinctive smooth and beguiling vocals the young singer-songwriter and guitarist from Exeter has amassed much attention particularly on Spotify with over 250,000 streams and a place in the UK Viral 50 Chart.
Suggest you arrive early to witness this star in the making.
Sadie Horler (Slot 2)
Real pleasure to have charming Exeter singer-songwriter Sadie Horler and her band in the barn this year.
Sadie and her family have been involved with the Fringe for a few years curating the popular Fringe Monday Open Mic Sessions. Her sunny personality immediately shines through on stage and with her intricate guitar picking and effortless vocals, Sadie performs with warmth and authenticity, captivating her audience with her engaging but unaffected stage presence.
Tom James (Slot 3)
Stoked to catch Tom James on a rare visit back home to his native Cornwall to bring back to the Fringe fold this summer!
'Fringe vet' Tom last performed at the sessions with his band back in 2013 when he stunned the audience with his astonishing percussive finger style guitar playing and musicianship.
Since then Tom has retained his free-spirited independence extensively touring Europe and more recently South Africa, growing his fan base and assimilating cultural influences along
the way and developing his songwriting to a new level.
They were awesome a few years ago at the Fringe so we are chuffed to welcome the boys back to the barn for the Saturday night finale.
Haunt the Woods are an exciting young Prog Rock band from Cornish/Devon boarders with a sound that blends soaring vocals, beautiful melodies and spellbinding guitar. Add in some epic crescendos and heartfelt lyrics for extremely powerful and visceral live performance.
