Around About Dusk

Chuffed to welcome Around About Dusk to the Fringe! An original project from Bristol, offering a unique journey through the vibrant fusion of New Orleans jazz, European folk, and old-time influences, coming together in their distinct repertoire.

Around About Dusk formed after a journey to New Orleans playing on the porches of Louisiana and heading through busking festivals of Europe to campfires in England. They are warm, captivating and unique!

"Haunting melodies, tightly laced harmonies and rich vocals weave stories about wonder and nature with echoes of cabaret, chanson, early jazz and folk shifting around like growing shadows."

Madalitso Band

Delighted to welcome joyful duo Madalitso Band to the Fringe - all the way from Malawi in east Africa!

Described as a ‘two man musical army’ their performances are vibrant and uplifting and they get crowds beaming with wonder and on their feet every time.

They were discovered performing outside a shopping centre by a local music producer in 2009 playing their home-made instruments - a babatone and four-string guitar that create the traditional Malawi 'banjo' sound. When not playing or touring, babatone player Yobu Malinga works as a gardener and guitarist Yosefe Kalekeni works as a security guard, however around Malawi they are increasingly revered as musical prophets.’
