Tuesday 7 August

Sessions commence at 7.00pm

Rue (Slot 1)

Delighted to introduce exciting young Cornish-based singer songwriter Rue and her band to the Fringe.

With comparisons to Erykah Badu and already a big online following, Rue draws upon influences from soul, jazz, RnB and pop — resulting in a chilled sound that sits alone in it’s own right.

Following her successful debut EP, Rue has gained the support of BBC Introducing, performed at some major festivals and supported major artists such as Martha Reeves and Newton Faulkner.

Arrive in good time to see one of the region's brightest rising stars.

Tugboat Captain (Slot 2)

It was love at first listen after discovering the melodic alt-folk/dream-pop sound and whimsical songwriting of Tugboat Captain.

This London sextet is made up from a group of long time musical mates with the Captain (aka Alexander Sokolow) at the helm of the magical mystery tugboat and it's crew.

Expect irresistibly catchy riffs, dreamy vocals and quirky lyrics that combine to create a summery feelgood sound with a twist.

The King's Parade (Slot 3)

We're really excited to have classy London 4-piece The King's Parade join us this summer!

Their music is a wonderful melodic crossover of classic ‘Detroit blues’ and pop with a soulful thread running throughout. Led by the assured vocals of frontman Olly Corpe, the band evokes the soulful sounds of the 70s with modern influences from The Black Keys, Michael Kiwanuka and Alabama Shakes.

Although the band have been together a few years now they have retained their artistic independence and remained under the mainstream radar while still amassing a large fanbase following sell out tours in London and Europe. The band's hard work has seen them honoured at the Unsigned Music Awards with much critical acclaim from the big names of the music press.

Outlya (Slot 4)

Really looking forward to this energetic indie pop trio and a rousing finale to the evening!

The talented band from London have quickly built a following and reputation for their ultra-catchy, anthemic power pop that nods in the direction of Maroon 5, Bastille and Imagine Dragons.

Their sound is characterised by synth-driven melodies, hefty hooks and euphoric singalong choruses that will suck you in to become part of the performance. Whether they’re hurling themselves around the stage to insanely catchy choruses, or walking into the audience for a hushed acoustic track, Outlya are permanently entertaining.

“The closest thing we’ve ever experienced to being physically slapped in the face by an indie-pop chorus “ One to One Music

“A tour de force of lilting electronic pop that feels like a warm embrace.” Clash Magazine

“Super-catchy, arena-sized pop”

The Independent

We're back on it for Tuesday night starting with the jazzy, soulful vibes of Rue, the folk/dream pop of Tugboat Captain, the classy Bluesy fusion of The King's Parade and the super-catchy anthemic pop of Outlya to finish.

Arrive in good time - with fantastic music right from the start!
